The Hillside Retreat sits on the eastern edge of Tamborine Mountain, looking down the valley. On a clear morning you can watch the sun come up over the Gold Coast from the verandah.
Surfers Paradise is a 30-minute drive and Brisbane about an hour. Up here it stays private, secluded and quiet. The gum trees are full of birds and wildlife, and the spa is heated year-round.

Our family home, with coastal views from the living room and a kitchen open to it, so whoever is cooking stays part of the conversation. The wraparound verandah has a gas BBQ for dinners outside.
